Hi,

I am a newbie. Please go easy.
I just installed yum (v 3.2.20) from gzip'ed tar file on
Redhat 2.6.9.

Running
 make
and
 make install
resulted in exit status of 0, leading me to believe successful
installation. But...

As I examine the output from the above commands, it generated
directories etc, usr/local, usr/share under my home directory.
That doesn't look right.

What am I missing? Maybe an environmental variable? I am
perfectly willing to undo what happened and reinstall. Please
give me a pointer (or two).

Thank you.
