Hi, I am having a issue while doing a yum update I am using Centos 5.2 and yum details are as follows > 3.2.19 > Installed: yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-2.el5.i386 at 2008-12-02 08:59 > Built : [] at 2008-05-24 19:53 > Committed: James Antill <[email protected]> at 2008-01-18 22:00 > > Installed: rpm-4.4.2.3-9.el5.i386 at 2009-04-17 09:00 > Built : [] at 2009-01-21 08:05 > Committed: Panu Matilainen <[email protected]> at 2008-12-02 22:00 > > Installed: yum-3.2.19-18.el5.centos.noarch at 2009-04-17 08:53 > Built : [] at 2009-01-22 10:53 > Committed: Karanbir Singh <[email protected]> at 2009-01-22 22:00 > It gives > ffmpeg-20081216-1.i386 from installed has depsolving problems > --> Missing Dependency: libbfd-2.17.50.0.6-6.el5.so is needed by package > ffmpeg-20081216-1.i386 (installed) > lame-398-2-1.i386 from installed has depsolving problems > --> Missing Dependency: libbfd-2.17.50.0.6-6.el5.so is needed by package > lame-398-2-1.i386 (installed) > Error: Missing Dependency: libbfd-2.17.50.0.6-6.el5.so is needed by > package lame-398-2-1.i386 (installed) > Error: Missing Dependency: libbfd-2.17.50.0.6-6.el5.so is needed by > package ffmpeg-20081216-1.i386 (installed) > The packages ffmpeg and lam-398 were custom compiled with some modifications. These packages with the modification are in use for a live site hosted on the machine. I also did a *--exclude=lame* --exclude=ffmpeg* *but it gives the same error while yum updating (even tried excluding in yum.conf). I did a google search, which told that i should *rpm -e --nodeps* the conflicting package? Since, that cannot be done can anyone suggest a workaround for updating Centos using yum? _______________________________________________ Yum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.baseurl.org/mailman/listinfo/yum
