you can have installed python-2.4 or higher (2.5,2.6..,)
we know you have from rpm -q
python-2.4.3-44.el5

   dependency: python(abi) = 2.4

This is version specific tied to *2.4*

I guessing Dropbox was not installed by yum,
have you a copy of the dropbox rpm locally?
