I haven't enabled hardware IDE raid in any of the kernels, it won't be
enabled 
in the future either, since it's still considered experimental.  You'll have

to recompile the kernel to use it, and in order to install it on the raid 
array, you'll have to modify the ISO and re-create it.  Not really easy to 
do, though.  There's always multiple-devices, software RAID, which is quite 
simple to use, especially RAID-1.
