 Maybe setup a cron job to rotate that file at a certain size? Sounds like something that would need to be done regularly.

I figured it out. If cacti stops updating graphs check your rrd.log file
and see if it is too big. The max size it can be is 2 gb. If you delete
it then cacti will start updating the graphs again.
