Both of you must be doing something really wrong. Reinstall, why?? Read the Nagios manual instead, I mean _really_ read it! File /usr/local/nagios/var/rw/nagios.cmd does not exists! ??? You must have (by mistake) deleted it! Also, sign up to the nagios-users mailing list.
