Hi Michel, thank you for the fast answer. We have a "secure" DMZ, that means it is a internal DMZ and not accessible from outside ;-) I'm using this server for the Cacti application. Upgrade to 0.85 was an easy step ;-) P.s. have a look at the Zabbix tool: What is Zabbix? All-in-one 24x7 monitoring solution without high cost. Zabbix is software for application and network monitoring. Zabbix supports both polling and trapping techniques to collect data from monitored hosts. Flexible notification mechanism allows easy and quckly configure email notifications for pre-defined events. Zabbix is freely available under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). http://www.zabbix.com/ Would be nice when you support this application in future.... > On Tuesday 09 March 2004 14:32, Thomas Gross wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I'm running the server in a DMZ and I need Telnet and FTP for the firew > all > > authentication process to connect to the server. > > ? > Don't use telnet login, it's insecure! *especially* in a DMZ!!! > You shouldn't use ftp either, it's also insecure! ;) > > > > > Is it enough to enable telnet and ftp in the inetd.conf file and how ca > n I > > "hup" this daemon ? > > How to reload inetd? > killall -HUP inetd > > The ftp daemon in Sentinix is pure-ftpd, you'll have to start it at the > command line, or use "setup" and choose to load the FTP service > (sh /etc/rc.d/rc.ftpd start). > > > > > Thanks for this great Linux distribution :) > > You're welcome! > > Best regards, > Michel > > _______________________________________________ > SENTINIX mailing list > [email protected] > http://elevenprospect.com/mailman/listinfo/sentinix > -- +++ NEU bei GMX und erstmalig in Deutschland: TÜV-geprüfter Virenschutz +++ 100% Virenerkennung nach Wildlist.
