Do you have NET-SNMP installed?
What service are you trying to check?
You can't check a service without a plugin.

Need more info I can help

Subject: [sentinix-list] SNMP

I'm new to Sentinix, but thats ok. I'm having trouble configuring a
new community name for snmp. I am not using the snmp daemon. (not
installed during setup) However I am still getting alerts through
snort that my Sentinix box is configured for the "public" community in
SNMP. I cannot find the snmp.conf file either. Anyone have any
   advice for a newbie?
