Hi,

We are very happy to announce "Debian Edu Squeeze 6.0.4 rc3", as we believe=
 this is what we will release as r0 very=20
soon! See below for 6.0.4 r0 and 6.0.4 r1 release schedules!=20

Debian Edu aka Skolelinux is a Linux distribution based on Debian providing=
 an out-of-the box environment of a=20
completely configured school network. It contains setup for a school server=
, PXE booting for diskless machines,=20
setup for installing stationary workstations and setup for workstations tha=
t can be taken away from the school=20
network.

Several educational applications like celestia, drgeo, gcompris, geogebra, =
kalzium, kgeography solfege and=20
kgeography are included in the default desktop setup.

Those who already are using rc1 or rc2 can upgrade to this version using ap=
t-get upgrade. Users upgrading from=20
beta3 must make sure to keep the existing gosa.conf file for everything to =
keep working as expected when dpkg ask=20
how to handle the changed file during upgrade.

We might decide to aim for March 31st for edu r1, if you don't take this se=
rious ;-p

Changes compared to rc2 version

    * Translation updates for the templates used in the installer. These te=
mplates are now available in 28=20
languages!
    * Improved French and Danish language tasks.
    * Added missing last entries in PXE boot menu. (BTS 661392)
    * Correct Samba domain logon script for teachers.
    * Add new Japanese translation of welcome web page.
    * Documentation updates in the manual.=20

The following features are not working as they should

    * The RDP server set up on thin-client-servers gives distorted KDE desk=
top at least when logging in using=20
rdesktop (#608195). This is a bug in the vnc4server package, and a workarou=
nd is to use the tigervnc server=20
instead..=20
