   I've built custom kernels before, too.

   What I did was download the entire source directory for kernel-3.2.7 from
Slackware64-current. I'll put that on the Sony running 13.37 and build it
there. That should be the equivalent of upgrading the kernel in place.

   All I need is confirmation that the protocol (build, run mkinitrd, modify
/boot and /etc/lilo.conf, then run lilo) is correct.
