Two very simple questions: 1) Have you checked the logs of the machine in question for errors? 2) Do you have similar problem with a completely different machine (eg a Macintosh or other)? If you have errors on the local machine something may be wrong with the machine hardware. If you have errors with a completely different machine, then you have a problem with your router.
