Hmmmm... Yes, I have seen these before, so tempting aren't they?

I mean, who wouldn't want one of these to instantly get double/
triple screen.

Only problem, of course, is that this is not really a "cable",
it's more of an external/USB-connected video card. Read the
specs and you will see that this little thing actually contains
512MB of RAM. And that only Windows drivers are provided.

Based on this, I strongly suspect the little USB-HDMI box contains
some sort of Intel-based video chip, probably optimized for low
power, such as those found in cheap netbooks. That does not mean
the display itself is bad, or the card not very powerful - just
that it's a cheap video card, but which comes with its own memory
(instead of sharing the computer RAM with the O.S.).

On the other hand, there is no need to buy one without Linux support,
when you can buy one WITH Linux support, right? There you go:
