Messed up my rc.d/rc.6...badly

  Hi gang,

  Anyone mind sending me a copy of their plain, stock rc.6 file please? Somehow
  or another, mine got messed up and now my system won't shut down and I have
  to hit a hard reset to reboot, this is naturally hard on the file system.

  Also, does anyone know where I can set the video mode for setup during boot?
  I keep getting to a screen that tells me 'Undefined video mode number: 316'
  and has after that a sentence telling me to either hit 'enter' and choose the
  mode I want (I usually use 318 or u...318==u) or to wait a few seconds and it
  starts on its own and goes into some stock mode.

  Do I change this in lilo.conf and if so, where?

  Thanks for help with these two problems (the second is just an anoyance
  actually, not a 'problem' per se).
