Hi Nick, The thought I have is that they are temporary directories from the editor. If you change your editor with export EDITOR=/bin/vi then crontab -e and then see if you get folder creation. If you want to make the changes permanent, change the lines of EDITOR= and VIEWER= in /etc/profile.
