Bigger question is, why would anyone think it wont work... its all
linux. 

The only reason Dell (and HP etc) say for RHEL, SUSEL etc is because
they have deals with them,  a lot of people forget  linux is the kernel
- the brain and the heartbeat, all the rest is whatever distro X wants
to give you on top of that, linux runs on anything that windaz will, yes
slackware 14.1 runs on 615 it also runs on its brother the 715 and a
whole lot more.
