Okay, I've tried this every way I can think of.  I even deleted that 
line, remade the .tar.gz file and used that for the SlackBuild script. 
It keeps giving me the same error.  I'm going to leave it for a while 
and see if it gets a fix from on high.

Thanks for your help with this.  It's much appreciated.
