I use JabRef as my scientific reference database. I was asked to try the new JabRef-5.0.0 so I built jdk11 using the java source in -current/extra. That worked and upgraded from the installed jdk8. Unfortunately, JabRef-5.0.0 is not working acceptably on my Ryzen7 desktop and I need to drop back to JabRef-4.3.1. I copied the jave11 slackware directory to jave8 and downloaded Oracles jdk8u-221. But when I tried building it this error message was displayed: # time ./java.SlackBuild ./java.SlackBuild: line 25: /tmp/package-java: Is a directory chown: missing operand after ‘root.root’ Try 'chown --help' for more information. mv: cannot stat 'jdk1.8.0_221': No such file or directory The build directory has the same files that worked for jdk11 (except for the source tarballs): /opt/jdk8-slackbuildd]# ls README jdk-8u221-linux-x64.tar.gz slack-desc.jdk java.SlackBuild* profile.d/ slack-desc.jre I'm not seeing what I've missed and ask you to advise me how to build this earlier jdk package.
