Recent Xorg releases all do very well automagically with all hardware as old as a
WX 2100. Are you sure you don't have lingering /etc/X11/xorg.conf or
/etc/xorg.cond.d/*.conf interfering? Do you have a custom configuration script
somewhere in /etc/X11/ interfering? What about in ~/?

My most recent amdgpu is 2 generations older than your WX 2100, has no slackware
installation, but works automagically with Debian, Fedora, Mageia, openSUSE &
*buntu, e.g.:

Note that my cmdline radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 is applicable only
to my generation of amdgpus. This same PC can run 4 displays automagically, other
than needing manual positioning to match actual placement: 2560x1440, 1920x1200,
1680x1050 & 1600x900, easily handled via an xrandr script appropriately placed
according to distro configuration.

Note above that mine is running on the amdgpu kernel module, but not the amdgpu
DDX display driver, instead on the modesetting DIX display driver. Have you tried
both?
