The idea is to provide the "local" music minus the ads, traffic info, and "DJ chatter. If you're keen on a portable, downloads "to-go" subscription, and willing to buy a compatible music player, then Yahoo is a much better value. Others are looking for help they can't get from these services. However, if you're idea of redesigning is to just open Photoshop and start designing without any regard for logistics, you'll be selling yourself short. Among the Internet radio services, Live365 has the biggest variety of classical stations: 529 broadcasters now list their stations as "classical. One key difference is that Yahoo's offering is significantly cheaper, and charges no premium for the ability to rent tracks "to-go" for use on portable music players. Opera fans worldwide are finding it addictive. At Yahoo's LAUNCHcast, you have to click on an answer to a canned question before you see a button asking you, "Is this enough information? I suspect that increasingly, others will come to this conclusion too. If you use these search plug-ins with any frequency, I recommend that you install the freeConquery extension to Firefox. The music is mostly classical, but some jazz, blues, world, and chinese music is included as well. Second, know that it is the broadcasters that classify their stations. I'll get back on it sometime. Another way to solve this is to give serious consideration to the labeling.
