Hi Stefan,
I tested with another NIC which works with the module e100 and everthing
works fine. That's why I think it was a module problem. On the other hand a
second try to mount the NFS with the old NIC worked always fine.
I use SuSE Enterprise Edition 7.2 and we use static ip-adresses.

hi tobias
as far as I could follow your problems, it is not about loading or
"talking" to
the NIC...it is about connecting to the NFS-Server, correct?
what suse version do you use?
is the client (workstation, whatsoever) a dhcp-client? or is the
installation-disk ordered to use a dhcp?

Thanks for help.
Unfortunately, these tags are already set to these values. Today I tried
the parameter switch_delay but the module for my NIC (3c59x) doesn't know
this parameter.

mounts
This problem sounds similar to me...
The module for the NIC wasn't loaded correctly.
Try this (It worked for me):
Turn SYS_MODULES_AUTOPROBE to no
and insert every needed module in SYS_INSMOD_MODULES
