Hi list,

I have a problem with the installation of suse 6.4. I buyed a new pc with a pentium IV processor, asus p4t-f motherboard and wanted to re-use the linux-os from my old pc.
I boot from the cdrom and yast2 starts. Yast2 recognize all my hardware without problems, and the installation process continues without problems, but if he must extract
files from the cdrom, he extract some files, and then he says the installation is complete, although I selected the full-installation.
If I try this with yast1, the installation continues without problems, till he must copy data from the cd. Then he stops with the first package.
I have this problem only with my new pentium IV 1500 mhz machine. On my old pentium 166 mhz yast installs linux propely.

Are there other persons with problems with linux 6.4 and newer pc's? How can I repare my pc?

Thanks
