The initially created format will always be 3.5.x, due to comatibility
with 2.2.x kernels. You can easyly change this format by mounting it
*once* with the option "conv":

mount -o conv /dev/c0d0p4 /

Either you put the option "conv" somehow into /etc/fstab or you can
convert it via some script. I see the problem here, being the root
partition does not make this task simpler ;)
