Nimbus font after Online Update SuSE8.0

Hello,

I recently updated my SuSE 8.0 using YAST Control Center (online update).

While doing it, I received error (GPG package not installed or patch 
corrupted).  It poped up and requested that I download the rest and try 
it later.  I dowloaded the rest and installed them.  It was the latest 
online patch.  I re-booted and in the login screen there was a "Nimbus 
Sans 1" font.  I could barely read it.  

I looked for the fonts by searching all files with the text matching 
"Nimbus", and there are quite a few of them.  I would LOVE to delete 
this font, but I believe that it just may lead to more troubles.  

When I logged in (both as root and as the user) all of the default fonts 
had been changed to this font.  I managed to get all of the rest of the 
fonts straightened out except for the YAST Control Center font under a 
user directory.  I did this by editing the rc files ( as many as I could 
find that had "Nimbus" in them), however it still shows up under the 
user in YAST Control Center as well as Konsole.  When I did change the 
fonts, I did notice that it changes the default fonts int he Control 
Center also.

Is there a fix for this?  This is driving me nuts!
Can I UNINSTALL the last updates?
