How to create updated (PXE) initrd for os 12.2 installation CD?

As the stock kernel of openSUSE 12.2 seems to have a problem with some
AMD FirePro cards (crash on switch from VT7 to any other, crash when
KEXECing to installed system), I would like to use the latest kernel
from openSUSE12.2:update repository and (re)build the initrd.

Could anyone give me a hint on how I would recreate the initrd that is
used to boot the installation CD (i.e. in the OSS repository under
/boot) with the latest kernel?

Thanks for any help! :-)
