well, hope you selected german, otherwise I'd be surprized about the
german error message.
yes, there is no "root" image on the cd, you'll have to specify the
installation source (ftp,ftp.suse.com or your favourite mirror)
manually in linucrc

yes, I already heard that one from another tester. yast keeps trying to
create dos-style partition tables, once there is a bsd-disklabes on the
drive it will create correct partitions however. I never ran into this
since all machines (with SRM) I installed on already had bsd-labels on
their disks.
Thanks for the report anyway, we'll try to have a look as time permits,
as I read you already helped yourself ;)
Changing to another console to create the disklabel on the harddrive
using fdisk should be sufficient however...
