Hello.

I think this answer pretty much sums it up.  It's currently evaluating
the package selection.

It does seem a fairly slow process, but as long as it keeps chugging
away, I'm happy.

Well mine is not a 1000 but a 3000. I am not sure what the differences
are but I can talk you though what I did if you like...

Does yours have SRM (you can tell if its SRM because it has white
letters on blue background and has IIRC a >>> prompt)?

I seem to remember you can change from the other to SRM through the
options menu on the other system but its been a few years since I did
that on mine and can't remember exactly where it was...

iIf you have the SRM prompt you literally need to plug in the command
boot dka200 (or whatever the CD is on your machine - you can find this
out by typing in show device at the prompt).

It should then bring you up with a screen which gives you as one of the
options to load Kernal modules (you need to load a driver here for your
NIC or you won't be able to FTP!

Then go into the install new system menu and select network, select FTp
and plug in the IP of the mirror you are going to use (I suggest the
ones Stefan recommended)

It wia lot of date into the RAM (takes ages!) and then it will take you
through an installation process that is not too disimilar to something
Gates would come up with only better obviously!

Its fairly straight forward and most of the default settings should get
you up and running.

Now I sit back for everybody else who has more knowledge than me to
shoot down everything I have suggested as being wrong!
