Ok, I first tried 134.76.11.100 (ftp.gwdg.de) but just as you said,
it was terrible slow and it took more than one hour to load the
initital 43 MB. Of course it crashed in YaST, so I had to start over... =
:-(

Next time I tried ftp.mirror.ac.uk (212.219.247.16) and it was much
quicker. Still, the installation hangs complaining that it cannot find
any of the two harddisks. Strange, because when I first started the
computer, NT4 started up without any problem. Do I have to prepare
the drives in any way _before_ I start the installation? It's a bit of
hazzle just being able to use the FTP-installation, it takes approx.
15-20 minutes to download the first part each time.

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/axp/supplementary/8.1

I.e. use the ip of ftp.gwdg.de -> 134.76.11.100 and

/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/axp/supplementary/8.1

as the path.

Please remember to make a quick check which mirror which actually has =

bandwidth to YOUR part in the world... In my case, I often find gwdg.de
being=20
quite loaded and I try to check first before downloading anything.
