Hi Klaus,

Yes, i tried it with ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/axp/supplementary/8.1/, but
it was the same Error with it.

I was unable to get the y2log from the alphastation via scp. It seems
that the ssh from Suse 8.1 and 9.0 are incompatible. Always "Connection =
lost".
Copying the File to a floppy fails too. Always the Error "disk is write =
protected"
Don't know why, because mounting works correctly.
Next try i used the latest RH for Alpha (7.2) to partitioning the HD's, =
and
everything runs fine with installation. But RH 7.2 is rather old....
So i think, if the installer from Suse 8.1 has problems with fdisk, BSD =
Disklabels, etc.
(as written from you and others in the AXP Mailing List Archive May, =
Jun. 2003), i've
tried to do this partitioning work with the RH 7.2 CD1. So far so good, =
i mean... :-)
Everything saved, replacing the RH-CD with the SuSE 8.1 Boot.iso-CD,
rebooting and start the setup-procedure again, and fail with the same =
known error. :-(.
Can you tell me, maybe step by step, how i can work around the =
installers bug
with fdisk and the BSD-Labels and other booby traps <g> where i must be =
careful?

TIA
