Re: ReiserFS on 7.1

there should be an option to load kernel modules from floppy before the
install kicks off, not? otherwise you could maybe insmod from a shell
virtual console once inside the install.
without the reiserfs module the installer won't be able to see the fs as
you said - just need to compile it for the install kernel somehow.
