True. I'm running SL 7.1 AXP on a DPWS (Miata/Pyxis) here with reiserfs and
some 2.4.19pre kernel currently.
You can find reiserfs RPMs (and other RPMs for SL 7.1 axp) on 
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/garloff/linux/SuSE/RPMs/7.1/

Note that those are NOT official SuSE packages and NOT supported by SuSE.
They are signed with my personal GnuPG key but not the SuSE build key.

But being at it: You may want to check whether the y2base there helps to
reduce the mem consumption of YOU from >150MB to 15MB ...
