linux 2.4.20

I just compiled new (2.4.20) kernel form Linus tree (www.kernel.org),
without any error message, but there is no kernel image... Any idea?

alpha2:/usr/src/linux # ls -la arch/alpha/boot/vmlinu*
ls: arch/alpha/boot/vmlinu*: No such file or directory
alpha2:/usr/src/linux # ls -la System.map
ls: System.map: No such file or directory

I use SuSE Linux 7.1 Alpha edition, on Compaq AlphaServer DS20E (dual EV67).
