Cluster with Alpha Workstations and Storage

Hello,

I want to build up a cluster from a Digital Personal Workstation 433 and
500 and a small Digital StorageWorks. The two computers are connetced to
the storage with an SCSI Y-cable.
When I start one computer all went fine, and I could fire Linux up. When
I try to start the second computer and it tries to connect to the
storage (SCSI), it fails wit timeouts.

I think the problem is the spin up of the disks. Is there a way to
connect both computers without problems to the storage to use it as
shared disk?

Any help is appreciated.
