Re: domino is crashing after about 4 days

Hi,

there was a 5.0.9a release for Linux (see following excerpt from HTML
source-code)

We use it for 2 months now and it didn't crash once.
But we installed it without Java-Support (because of Suse 7.2 / Kernel 2.4
problems).

We are planning to update to 5.0.10 soon.

well, let's say it like this:

we had every 5.0.9 server crash around every 48 hours, after installing a
reboot script at 04:00 every day, the problem disappeared.
After upgrading to 5.0.10 and removing the script the problem did not
reappear. according to our sources at ibm 5.0.9 was a very bugy release,
using it is discouraged.
use 5.0.9a (which never came out for linux) or change to 5.0.10.

domino for linux < 5.0.10 is know to have a memory handling problem, it
will crash eventually (you can either reboot every 24h -> it seems to hold
up that long, or upgrade to 5.0.10).

Hi,

does anybody know this problem :

After about 4 days the domino server will crash complete ...
... no error messages , no idea what's wrong ...

Lotus Domino 5.0.9
SuSE Linux 7.2 ( orig. SuSE Kernel shipped with this version --- 2.4.4-4GB
)
No other Services are running ...
... guessing this crash depends on the http-task.
