hi,

maybe not known in notes.ini ?

is the server-addressbook present ? /local/notesdata/names.nsf ?

if so, is there a server-entry for the installed server ?

if so, is the new installed server the administration-server of the
addressbook ? if not, is there another domino which is the admin-server
for the addressbook ?

if so, change the default system-language in rc.config from de_DE@euro in
de_DE .

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Bruno Leonhardt

        Thema: [suse-domino] Domino startup fails

we have installed a Domino 5 Server on a Suse Linux 7.3 ! during the
installation we had some problems with Java. There was a Java file the
Domino httpsetup-server couldn´t load. Then we renamed the Javafile and
the
httpsetup-server started without Java.

After the setup was complete we tried to start the domino server and the
Server gave the following output:

08/07/2002 06:09:33 PM WARNING: Unable to locate a server document for
this
server - Could not open the ID file
08/07/2002 06:09:33 PM Begin scan of databases to be consistency checked
08/07/2002 06:09:33 PM End scan of databases: 1 found
08/07/2002 06:09:34 PM Unable to get information from Name & Address
book:
Could not open the ID file

The id - File i had to give during the setup process was copied by the
server from /dev/floppy to the notesdata directory. the owner of the
id-file is "notes" and the group also "notes" (like the daemon user for
the
notes server).

we have chmodded the id-file so that the owner can read and write to the
file !

So why can´t the keyfile found/opened ????

Thanks

Jens
