...no not missing user-rights ... it's a network-problem ... be sure that
there isn't any other smtp (sendmail) or pop3 (qpopper) started ...

lsof -nsi | grep sendmail
lsof -nsi | grep pop

if there isn't anything, maybe you've a wrong installation , install again
and be sure the notes / notes user / group is already created.

if still won't work look here : http://www.linux-it.net/  -> Datenbank ->
Lotus Domion -> Installation

        Thema: [suse-domino] missing rights for SMTP / POP3

Dear list members,

I have a problem when I'm starting Lotus domino as a notes user:

POP3 and SMTP isn't working because of missing rights.

The error messages are:

26.09.2002 18:13:14 SMTP Server: Listener failure: Restart Server
26.09.2002 18:13:14 Suspending listen task for 20 seconds due to network
errors
26.09.2002 18:13:29   POP3 Server: Listener failure (1086122768): Restart
Server
26.09.2002 18:13:29 POP3 Server: Suspending listen task for 20 seconds
due to network errors

It works fine when I'm starting this as a root user so I think there are
missing rights for the user notes.

Is there any document available regarding the required rights ?

Best regards
