No. There is no other smtp or pop3 active. When I'm switch from user notes 
to user root there I have not started any sendmail or other progs.

I have to go the second way and reinstall the server. (I'm sure this will 
generate other questions)

if there isn't anything, maybe you've a wrong installation , install again 

and be sure the notes / notes user / group is already created.

Dear list members, 

I have a problem when I'm starting Lotus domino as a notes user: 

POP3 and SMTP isn't working because of missing rights. 

The error messages are: 

26.09.2002 18:13:14   SMTP Server: Listener failure: Restart Server
26.09.2002 18:13:14   Suspending listen task for 20 seconds due to network 

errors
26.09.2002 18:13:29   POP3 Server: Listener failure (1086122768): Restart 
Server
26.09.2002 18:13:29   POP3 Server: Suspending listen task for 20 seconds 
due to network errors

It works fine when I'm starting this as a root user so I think there are 
missing rights for the user notes. 

Is there any document available regarding the required rights ?
