upgrade

We run notes version 5.08a and we want to upgrade to 5.10.

What is the right strategy:

Is it possible to upgrade the server as the first step and is it possible 
to run mixed versions of clients during upgrade phase of the clients ? It's 
not possible to make an upgrade on all workstations at the same time - 
except we make upgrade sessions on the weekend.
