Yes,I have been running Notes with Wine for quite some time. Actually I am
using the latest release of Wine compiled from Source. In General the Notes
Client, the Administrator and the Designer is working. Of course the
Internet Explorer Integration does not work with the standard wine
installation. There are also some font issues that could be solved with
tweaking the font installation. The recent version of wine has a bug on my
machine when writing text in a rich text field.
The text does not display until you press enter or resize the window. The
Administrator seems to be fully functional. The designer works in general
but is not as stable as the other parts (Admin & Notes Client). Some minor
crashes during development. Of course the Wine version does not respond as
fast as the W32 version on my machine (Duron 650 MHz and 256 MB) but I
would say that it is usuable. If the Rich Text bug disappears I will
completely switch to the wine version.
I am using a fake Windows with no additional dll support from a Windows
installation.I am very surprised that even the handling of attachments does
now work without any problems (did only work with a native windows dll in
the past).I was able to install the full client from scratch using the CD.
Actually I am using 5.0.9 English on my box.

as I read that Wine was able to run M$-Office applications I was wondering
wether it was able to run the Notes Client too?
Has anyone tried this? Has anybody have any experience with WINE???
