Didn't have had any problems running Domino 5.0.x (I am up to 5.0.12 now) with SuSE 6.4 and up (since 8.1 came out it is running on 8.1 now). But: Domino does a lot disk I/O. ReiserFS had some problems with a running Domino server. Sometimes this lead to hangs or even crashes. I took the disadvantages and returned to ext2. Since SuSE 8.1 I am using ext3. No problems. Two of the systems I've configured are running as mail servers (including Web-Mail) for schools (both about 500 Mail users, 20% really active. The third is running Learning Space. This one is often heavily loaded. Increasing memory to 1,5 GByte made it more performant. Since then it has stopped excessively using swap space... I've noticed problems with TSM. It might be better to stop domino before starting backup, sometimes TSM makes Domino hang without any notice because memory got exhausted while TSM backing up Domino data. TSM is running on, but Domino stops working. Maybe other backup software has the same problems. -- Thomas
