Did you install Notes using wine or did you copy an existing installation 
to be used from wine? If you installed from wine, it should work. If you 
copied an existing installation from Windows 95/98 it might work. If you 
copied an existing Windows 2K/XP installation it does not work. Wipe out 
everything except the data directory, then reinstall notes from wine!

After copying the data directory and changing notes.ini to reflect your 
paths as seen in you wine environment, you should have a working notes 
installation looking exactly like the one you had before.

If notes finishes further after logon, try adding your notes program 
installation directory to your wine path --- the variable "Path" in 
section "wine" in your wine config.

If Notes finishes again after typing the password, it is someting with 
your environment as defined in "desktop.dsk". Try deleting it (be shure to 
make a backup copy!). Restart notes. Normaly this works, but your desktop 
ist empty now. You'll have to recreate it by hand...

If notes keeps quitting after logon, copy your "names.nsf" to a save 
location, then delete it. Restart notes. Since you do not have any 
"names.nsf". Notes behaves a bit stupid, but you can create a new one now, 
using "pubnames.ntf" as template.

After this was done, you may open the old one at the save location and 
copy your adresses over. Avoid copying any of the configuration items! 
Recreate them as necessary. Especially do not copy the 
"Location"-Documents. Recreate one for your installation!
