We had similar problems with another configuration (same symptoms), but we solved it via the MTU setting. I think in your case it is the same! Why do I think so? Windows try to guess the MTU size. This depends on the LAN connection. In your case the "slow" connection does work, because Windows guess it is a slow connection => lower MTU size. How do you set the MTU size. There are so many different location to set this! We have used DRTCP from this location: http://www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html We have set the Dial-Up (RAS) MTU to 1400 Bytes and all symptoms above were gone. You should investigate a little bit more in these MTU settings, I think. We had this problem almost two years with our VPN software.
