Installing it the other way round wouldn't work. While installing, domino creates some links to libs found in "compat". If they are not there, the links are not created. There is no error message. Domino just awaits them being in the path instead. On some systems it is advisable to set "LANG=en_US" before starting domino setup. If you did not, domino tries to find some java classes in ".../$LANG/...". They do not exist. Leading to an exception. Most simple solution: set "LANG=en_US". Second simple solution: copy the missing libraries from the standard path to the one domino expects to exist. You might like to have a look at http://xcknfaz1.fiducia.de/ if you are courious about http not running. It should prove you wrong! -- Thomas
