Domino service is started in detached screen session
that may be attached by Notes user using "screen -r".
Tested and worked under ALT Linux (Mdk clone).
For your problem:
1) Call su with "-l" switch ("login")
2) "su" command must be followed by
> ~notes1/logfile.txt 2>&1 &
3) Check files ownership/permissions in ~notes1 directory
