In many years, I have never experienced the "death" of a mail.box at all. Of course a lot of data is written into and removed from a mail box database, but that is exactly what these databases are for. No corruption should occur, or at least it should neither be expected nor easily accepted. Just my two cents, of course. If there are worries about the high I/O load, I suggest using i.e. three mail boxes. They will be used round robin fashion, and maybe it has a positive effect on the compacting process. -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Yours sincerely Dipl. Inform.
