I suppose that design documents received from the server make up the
most of the traffic you observe, although I can't tell you the major
differences between login attempts number 1, 2 and 3. Try deleting
the Notes Client's "cache.ndk" between logins (you must stop the
client to do this) and see what happens.

Sorry, I have no idea when it comes to "real fresh" client installs.
If you could start by copying an existing Notes Client installation
to another machine, that would be a different matter...
