Notes Client - enable compression before first login?

hi all,

Is there anyway to configure the notes client so that Network Compression
is enabled before first login?

I tried variuos ways, but somehow I have to login first and then configure
it in the user preferences. I want to do it because, without compression,
the first new user login causes network traffic between 2mb to 4 mb. Can
anyone help?
