this is, what is in my environment
LANG=de_AT@euro
LANGUAGE=de_AT:de_DE:de:en_GB:en

So I created the following links:
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   10 2004-11-05 09:31 de -> de_AT@euro

But I still have the same problem... My server displays the wrong or 
should I say true messages...
I can build a workaround with using a local ssh - connection to create a 
"real" login, but this will definitely not work at startup... *sigh*

Could it be, that my permissions are set wrong? 
But then, the apropriate user could not start the server either, I guess. 

Or did I get something completely wrong?
