I tried, but the only visible difference is that LNXDomLP653_CONSOLE
terminates silently instad of displaying the error message (return
code is 0).

Are you referring to the "compat" package? It is installed here. Are
there other packages required for backwards compatibility?

I could wait and stick to the english language client and templates,
but some of my customers have a different attitude. ;-)
