Hello,

I have successfully installed Domino 6.5.3 on SuSE 9.2 Professional,
which is a little different, kernel-wise I guess, but it's newer than
SLES 9.0

Anyway, I suggest you do a remote server setup from another PC, thus
avoiding any possible conflicts with the JVM. In fact, for DB2
8.1 (not 8.2) and Portal Server, IBM recommends uninstalling Sun's JVM
and installing IBM's if you want to do a graphical setup, so this might
also be the case with Domino.

Subject: [suse-domino] SLES 9.0 and Domino 6.5.2

Hi all,

has anybody successfully made the combination of SLES 9.0 and Domino 6.5.2
work ?

I have installed SLES 9.0 (Minimum installation + compat + X-Server/ FVWM2
+ IBM JRE) and did an online update.

Then I installed Domino 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 incremental back to back.

When after the installation I try manual setup I just get two lines with
java messages and nothing continues to happen ...

Are there any solutions ?

I would rather prefer running SLES9 to SLES8 for the following reasons:

- I've been told that the IP-Stack in SLES9 has been improved over SLES8

- End of Life for SLES9 will be not as soon as for SLES9

If of course you provide me with better arguments for SLES8, feel free to
comment.

Thank you in advance.
