Since I'm using it on several 8.x machines (main devel machine is 8.2), I
think that it can't be so serious ;-)

Try to delete them manually:
rm /var/cache/fou4s/packages/*/i386/update/suse/patches/*
(from my mind, but you should get it ...)

Then run fou4s -u again.

Of course this is not nice and I've seen it sometimes, but I was never
able to reproduce it. Could also be a server problem (Continued download
failed ...).
